Why you'd want it
The unified npx CLI, @cobusgreyling/loop, has init, doctor, status, audit and cost commands. init scaffolds a chosen pattern such as daily-triage into a repo for Claude Code, Grok, Codex or opencode; the quickstart says it creates STATE.md, LOOP.md, loop-budget.md and loop-run-log.md and prints a Loop Ready score. The cost command checks the cost of a pattern at a given level and cadence before you schedule it. The repo also holds a library of patterns (Daily Triage, PR Babysitter, CI Sweeper and others) with docs on failure modes and safety.
Best for
- Setting up a recurring agent loop in a repo
- Scoring loop readiness before going unattended
- Checking token cost before scheduling
Use it when
You want recurring agent work such as issue triage, CI or dependency upkeep set up as a defined loop, starting in report-only mode for the first week.
Skip it if
You want a one-off feature or refactor; the README calls this a pattern library, not a "rewrite the module" button. It scaffolds loops that run agents on a schedule, and the README warns that token costs can explode and unattended loops make unattended mistakes; it rates PR Babysitter cost High and CI Sweeper Very high. init writes files into your repo, and for Cursor, Windsurf and OpenClaw the quickstart says to copy the skills by hand.
Editor's note
Older per-tool packages (loop-init, loop-audit and others) stay supported, and companion repos are listed in the README. Grok and opencode are also supported by init but are not in the platform list.
